Ohio Officer

Dear Sir or Madam:

I received the Tactical Design Labs holster in September.  I immediately put it into use as my primary duty holster. Upon first evaluating the holster I had some questions about its ability to allow me to retain the weapon. As I have utilized the holster over the last four months those questions have been erased and replaced with nothing but praise for this holster and retention system. Two specific incidents are at the forefront of my mind in how well this system works.

On October 4,  at approximately 12:27 am., I was assisting a deputy on Interstate 80. The deputy had stopped a semi that was reported to have struck another vehicle and drove off. As I backed up, the deputy I observed him step up on the running board of the truck. The truck began to pull away with the deputy on board. I moved my patrol car into the path of the truck as it slammed on its brakes knocking the deputy to the ground. I exited the patrol unit and drew my service weapon as the deputy recovered and drew his. The occupants of the truck were removed. As I reflected on the event it was the first stressful situation where I had to draw and holster my duty weapon since utilizing the Tactical Design Labs holster. I did so without thought and with ease.

On December 18,  at approximately 1:20 a.m., I was involved in a vehicle and foot pursuit with another officer from our agency. The driver of the vehicle wrecked into the parking lot of an apartment complex. The driver then fled from us on foot. Several times during the incident, I had occasion to draw and holster my duty weapon. I did so again without thought. We were able to catch the driver and take him into custody after a brief physical alternation. I at no time feared for retention of my duty weapon. Your holster has proven itself to me.

I would note that many of the officers and deputies that I work with are impressed with the holster design and the weapon retention capabilities I have displayed to them.

Sincerely,

W.D.
