Orange Co. S/O Approves TDL Holster

Test and Evaluation on the TDL "Professional" Duty Holster

I am a 26 year police veteran and have been on the street for 20 years.  I have seen many guns and holsters come and go in that time.  I shoot PPC (Practical Police Competition) and IPSC (International Practical Shooting Confederation) where speed, accuracy and safety all come together.

I put the (TDL) holster into duty use and found I adapted quickly to the draw and holstering of the gun. I like the look and feel of this holster.  Unlike the rotating hoods of the level 3 holsters, I grip my gun in a “Master shooting grip” and my trigger finger naturally fall into the correct place and unlocks the gun.  It is a fast and natural motion.  This will lend itself to a quicker transition to this holster.

My department issues the Glock 22 .40 cal.   The Glock must have the trigger completely covered for safe carry.  "The Professional" does.  This should stop any accidental discharges.

I now have one of my area partners testing the holster. This deputy is an average shooter, he likes the look and feel.  He told me his draw is much faster with this holster.

Bottom line is this is a great holster and if you or your department needs an easy to use, fast and secure holster.  You owe it to yourself to look at "The Professional".

The Tactical Design Labs “Professional" holster is now approved for duty carry by the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.
